Alzheimer’s Society
After completing a highly in-depth workplace strategy programme, HLW has designed a workplace for the Alzheimer’s Society in London that fully supports their working methods whilst also opening up new options for their future business.
The HLW team worked closely with the company in order to ensure that the scheme was dementia-friendly and would actively help those affected by diseases such as Alzheimer’s when they are navigating and using the space. It was important that although this was an underlying thread throughout the design, the overall effect must be that of a contemporary and very functional office space. There are no assigned offices, instead open plan desking has been created around the parameter of the building, giving lots of access to natural light to everyone. For very focused or confidential work, there are focus rooms that have been incorporated in the centre of the floorplate, providing a quiet and private space within the heart of the office.
