Park Place
This extensive warehouse renovation delivered a one-of-a-kind workplace to El Segundo, California. The client’s ultimate goal was to maximize the rentable area of this single-story warehouse, a challenge that drove our design solution. We raised the roof, added a second level, and opened the center, to create an internal courtyard with an operable glass roof. The glulam structural system and dark metal accents define the overall aesthetic, and a restrained yet effective palette plays well with numerous splashes of green. Blurred boundaries between interior and exterior spaces create a distinctive and humane workplace with an abundance of natural light, a variety of spatial experiences, and great flexibility of use.
