Procore Technologies
Procore Technologies is a technology company who create a software platform for the construction industry whose headquarters campus is located in Carpinteria, along the Pacific Coast. HLW started working with Procore Technologies in 2017 on a master planning , discovery and strategy exercise, as they continued to grow their campus and organization when they decided to take the opportunity to evaluate both their current facilities and potential growth. This was a deep dive into where they were and wanted to be in the future, how the multiple buildings formed a campus and what would a journey through that feel like for both staff and visitors – ultimately where was the “Front Door” and public facing experience of the campus located. Once that Front Door was identified as a new warehouse building – 6303, HLW worked on the design of both interior and exterior adaptation of the warehouse, with new perimeter façade renovations, landscape of the surrounding exterior, and interior renovation and build out.
HLW worked with Procore Technologies to identify the specific programmatic requirements for that space and took the opportunity also re-evaluate workplace standards. The Campus is located immediately adjacent to and overlooking the pacific and the experience is focused around highlighting that aspect immediately upon entry. Another key concept previously established in the design of the campus was that of constructability – expressing materiality and connections thereof adding a touch of wit. The new space continues to build on this aesthetic and the mid century flavor providing spaces that respond to both function and comfort.
The building also had a unique interior courtyard which contributes to the indoor/outdoor aspect of the building and the introduction of a new food service amenity and café seating area is located between the two so as to take advantage of the views to the Ocean afforded from their elevated area of the campus.
