HLW was enlisted to help SportsNet New York (SNY) with a relocation and consolidation of a new 85,000 sf space at 4 World Trace Center. HLW collaborated with Sterling Equities, the parent company of SNY, to deliver an office space that enables the two distinctly different, yet related companies to work seamlessly.
SNY’s new space functions as a world-class broadcasting facility while unifying the entire organization in one place. The new office fulfills all the technical requirements of a broadcasting network and its studios, control and edit rooms, newsroom, and staff office, paired with offices for Sterling Equities business operations.
The design of the new workplace provides a redistribution of space with communal areas placed in the most valuable and highly trafficked sections of the offices. Purposeful planning creates areas for both planned and spontaneous collaboration. Generous daylight and panoramic views of the New York Harbor and New Jersey Gold Coast are a welcome contrast to employees whose previous spaces were below grade with no external views.
