HLW transformed a Vietnam War era aircraft hangar into one of Southern California’s largest state-of-the-art digital production facilities devoted exclusively to content distribution online. The 41,000 sf studio houses professional-grade cinema stages and equipment. The technology-rich production facilities include green-screen stages and a motion-capture room.
The new flagship production facility is a place where emerging and established “creators” can collaborate and learn from each other. In addition to providing a physical place to congregate and capitalize on synergies, it offers the company’s “channel partners” the human and technology resources to be ambitious in developing and realizing their ideas.
Consistent with our client’s mission to foster a community of innovative online content creators, HLW created an effective mix of collaboration spaces, ranging from a stylish and spacious multi-purpose ‘Sandbox’ space to cozy, private meeting areas.
The Sandbox provides a valuable venue for large-group gatherings, as well as a truly original, new public presence. The design seamlessly integrates a number of creative public interfaces, including a wall of 36-screen interactive monitors and an elevated, glass-box screening room. In addition, visitors to the facility can observe recording sessions through a wall of glass panes.
HLW recently completed a renovation of this space to reconsider security and entry experiences.
