Apollo’s new El Segundo headquarters, necessitated by a recent merger with Athene, stands as a physical embodiment of the two companies’ unified vision, Apollo’s global guidelines, and a unique local character.
Designed in two phases, the build-out includes a blend of open workplace, enclosed offices, interstitial spaces, and a generous smattering of amenities. This layout is geared towards enhancing collaboration across both entities and their departments. Timeless and tailored details instill the space with sophisticated aesthetics, while organic materials and elegant proportions create a classic and orderly design.
Echoing the nearby seaside, the headquarters incorporates elements that reflect the natural beauty and vibrant energy of the California coast. The design subtly integrates coastal hues and textures, bringing in a sense of calm and openness. Key features, such as creatively designed pantries, wellness rooms, and the employee café, break up the expanse of the office floor, adding points of interest that echo the rhythmic patterns of the ocean. Inspired by the breaking wave, fluid forms articulate architectural elements and furniture accents, creating a warm and welcoming environment.
