With the recent relocation of 27 executives to West Palm Beach, Piper Sandler needed an office that would be appropriately outfitted for a small team and still be impressive to visiting clients. The company turned again to HLW for interior design and lighting services, continuing a partnership that began in 2019 with their New York office and was followed with an additional location in London in 2021.

The office’s beachy, posh locale serves as the primary source of inspiration for the space. Organic geometry and curvilinear forms evoke the gentle waves of the nearby channel and add a softness to an otherwise typical rectilinear office space. Natural textures and materials—wood, terrazzo, stone, and fiber—paired with vibrant blue and yellow hues strengthen the aesthetic connection to the outside environment. HLW’s specialty partner Spark provided the lighting scheme for the space, which includes gentle recessed lighting in the lobby and pendant lights that evoke the area’s tropical modernist vernacular.
