About Kering Americas:

French-based luxury group Kering tasked HLW with creating its new North American operations hub. By developing a new complementary structure with a Parisian-inspired office, our design reinforces Kering’s commitment to sustainability and marries the sophistication and warmth of European design with the industrial nature of the original building.

HLW transformed the space into a bright open office, complete with personal workstations and lounge areas cloaked in natural light. As employees enter the space they are greeted by a warm, minimally outfitted reception area connected to an on-site tech bar. Taking inspiration from a Parisian central courtyard, HLW designed a 50-foot stadium staircase leading to a mezzanine and a cafe, both offering views onto an adjacent golf course. Bookshelves are built-in along the walls, decorated with historic objects from Kering’s luxury brands. Each door portal is trimmed with custom wood accents to bring natural elements into the sea of metals. Sleek acoustic lighting and sound panels run throughout, along with rugs crafted from plastic water bottles, underscoring Kering’s belief that beautiful items can be made sustainably.

To support collaboration, each team is given their own whitebox huddle room to customize based on their own unique workflows. Giving creative freedom to choose the furniture set-up, colors, and art for these rooms allows Kering’s team to thrive in every setting.

Sustainability is at the heart of Kering’s mission; the new space was designed for LEED Gold certification. Sit-to-stand benches are installed along the windows to ensure employees are surrounded by natural light, giving around-the-clock access to daylight and furthering Kering’s commitment to a healthier work environment. Additionally, the new headquarters features three mother rooms and one wellness room, which regularly holds yoga and meditation classes.

Kering’s North American headquarters places the brand’s values of diversity, equality, and sustainability on full display.
